More help available for victims, survivors of domestic violence

People who aren't physically injured during certain crimes are now eligible to apply for reimbursement costs.

ALBANY, N.Y. — More help is available for victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Under a new state law that took effect Monday, people who aren't physically injured during certain crimes are now eligible to apply for reimbursement of domestic violence shelter expenses and crime scene clean-up costs.

They actually had to pay for those things before Monday.

Non-physically injured victims are people who experienced menacing, criminal mischief or robbery offenses.
