Assemblyman Sean Ryan set for 2020 Senate run

Ryan made his candidacy announcement for the 2020 election on Saturday, September 14.

TONAWANDA, N.Y. — State Assemblyman Sean Ryan will run for the State Senate seat in District 60.

The Democrat assemblyman officially announced his candidacy Saturday morning at the Niawanda Park pavilion. He was joined by several state and local leaders.

Senator Chris Jacobs currently serves the 60th district. Jacobs is campaigning for Chris Collins' seat in Congress.

Sean Ryan said in a statement, “Western New York values are a part of who I am. Growing up in Lackawanna, I was taught the value of hard work and that nothing gets handed to you. I also know government has a role in building a strong and equitable economy. In the State Senate, I’ll continue the work to build a better future for Western New York by helping the most vulnerable in society, restoring trust in state government, fighting for an economy that works for everyone, and helping Western New York families with the problems they face.”
