Pedestrian struck by truck in Lancaster listed in serious condition

Police say a commercial delivery truck was heading east on Walden Avenue when it struck the man, who was taken to Erie County Medical Center.

LANCASTER, N.Y. — Lancaster Police say a 34-year-old man is in serious condition after he was hit on Friday morning, at the intersection of Central and Walden Avenues.

The incident happened at roughly 6:15 a.m. Lancaster Police say neither impairment nor speed, appear to be factors.

Police say a commercial delivery truck was heading east on Walden Avenue when it hit the man, who was taken to Erie County Medical Center.

The truck driver was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation, as are motorists who witnessed the incident.

Walden Avenue was closed for some time between Sheldon Avenue and Stony Road as police investigated the crash, but has since re-opened.
