GETZVILLE, N.Y. — A transportation company plans to close some of its local operations and lay off 65 workers.
First Transit Inc., a subsidiary of Transdev North America Inc., will end operations at its 2700 Millersport Highway location in Getzville, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the state Department of Labor.
The closure was due to a contract loss, according to the filing. The facility, which has a total of 67 employees, will close June 30. The employees are part of the Teamsters Local 449.
