No injuries reported following Niagara County house fire

The house was evacuated before first responders arrived.

WILSON, N.Y. — No one was injured following a Friday fire that ripped through a Niagara County home.

The fire happened shortly before 7 p.m. Friday on the 200 block of Pettit Street in the Village of Wilson. The first people on the scene were Niagara County Sheriff's deputies, who confirmed a fire at a large two-story home, with "smoke showing from the eaves of the roof."

The house was evacuated before first responders arrived. The Wilson, South Wilson, and Olcott volunteer fire companies put out the fire, which caused heavy fire and smoke damage.

The Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
