ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A 33-year-old Buffalo man has been sentenced in a fatal motor vehicle crash that had happened outside of Highmark Stadium after a Monday night football game last November
Khairullah Hasein received a determinate sentence of 120 days in jail followed by five-years of probation.
In February, he had pleaded guilty before an Erie County Court judge to the highest sustainable charge.
At the time of the crash, it had been reported that the Hasein had left the scene of the accident before police found him a few hours later at his home. His car was also located with damage on it on Mills Street in the City of Buffalo.
The 65-year-old victim who had been hit by Hasein was transported to ECMC where they passed away.
During his arraignment in November, Hasein required a Burmese interpreter and was identified as a husband, father of four young children, as well as full-time teacher at the Islamic School on Best Street in Buffalo.
Part-time Hasein would also deliver for Amazon, which is what he was doing at the time of the hit-and-run.
When arguing for bail, Hasein’s appointed attorney said he might not have realized that he allegedly hit something, in part because it is so dark around the stadium at that time.
